Ten graduands recieved certificates at the 9th graduation ceremony of the mortuary science certificate on 7th June 2013 at the department. The guest of honour of the ceremony was Dr. Emily Rogena, a forensic pathologist and acting Dean School of Medicine, University of Nairobi. Dr. Rogena challenged the morticians to apply with integrity the knowledge they learnt and re brand the practice as a respectful career. This will go along way in achieving one of the pillars of vision 2030 of human resource development. Dr. Paul Odula the chairman of the departmental CFP committee recognised the strides made in developing the course over the last 7 years. Prof. Hassan Saidi informed the congregation of plans to introduce enriched Diploma and Degree courses in Mortuary Science at the University of Nairobi. In attendance were graduands family members, teaching, technical and administrative staff at the department.
